This small wall light is a Zeiss Ikon lighting fixture is designed by Adolf Meyer, a renowned Bauhaus architect. The entire shade is made of mirrored glass on the inside and lacquered glass on the outside. The mirror reflector on the inside, a characteristic element of the Zeiss production, is capable of amplifying the intensity of the light bulb. The outside is matted with a silver coating creating a real spotlight.

ORIGIN
The Wall Little Hermit Crab was found in the harbour of Rotterdam. This fixture was found in a large warehouse, where it illuminated the space.

Detail Information

The Wall Little Hermit Crab can be supplied with either a halogen or LED bulb. Standard the light comes with no cable as it can be placed directly on an electrical point. The Wall Little Hermit Crab will be accompanied by its passport, documenting the history and origin of the lamp. There is also a pendant version of this light ‘Little Hermit Crab‘.
110 volt options, US & Canada wiring, and other specialties are available.

Installation of lights
We prepare our lighting fixtures for installation. The black electrical cable that comes with the lighting fixture is already connected, and if bulbs or fluorescent lights are included, these have been installed in advance. We recommend to have all lighting fixtures installed by a qualified electrician.

Restoration

All our lights are restored by hand with the greatest care. As unique piece of heritage, we seek to preserve the light’s authentic appearance. We present the lamp in it’s original finish, or re-finish the light in it’s original color. The lamp has been completely rewired to current standards, and fully assembled and tested to European Legislation. We hope that it may be preserved for many centuries to come.
