Cacaofabriek, Cepezed, Helmond, 2014
Together with architectural firm Cepezed, we created a lighting concept for the new cultural hub of Helmond, The Netherlands. This vibrant place is located in the former Cacao factory of Helmond. The architects of Cepezed succeeded in maintaining the extraordinary character of the original building, and combining it at the same time with a newly constructed part. Blom & Blom provided the lights for the bar & restaurant space on the ground floor, as well as the ‘eye-chatching’ fixtures in the meeting rooms, spread out through the complex.
In the bar & restaurant area, a combination of Pelican and Black Swan fixtures have been applied. By locating the lights several meters below the ceiling, an extra visual layer is created, that ‘breaks’ the relatively high space.
By applying the meeting room each with a different ‘eye-catching’ dimmable fluorescent light, every meeting rooms has its own identity.
