America Today, Kalverstraat, Amsterdam, 2015
For one of their most important stores, America Today asked us to come up with a lighting concept for the central space in their staircase. We created a design in which we combined our Javan Rhino lamps – original explosion-proof fixtures from an abandoned laboratory – with wooden crates full of hanging plants. The ‘floating’ lights and plants emphasize the vertical character of the space, and create a connection between the various floors in the store.
All lighting fixtures are dimmable, and equipped with warm-white fluorescent tube to create a natural feeling.
