This striking theatre lamp consists of a slender steel-plated body featuring five porcelain E27 sockets. As the original glass panes and grid on the lamp were broken, these have been replaced by five panes of wired glass.
ORIGIN
The Vampire Bat was found on a small Soviet military site on the outskirts of Berlin. These military sites often operated with a self-sustaining structure, which means all facilities imaginable were present at the complex. This fixture was suspended from the ceiling of a small theatre on the site, where it illuminated the entertainment for the military staff.
RESTORATION
All our lights are restored by hand with the greatest care. As unique piece of heritage, we seek to preserve the light’s authentic appearance. We present the lamp in it’s original finish, or re-finish the light in it’s original color. The lamp has been completely rewired to current standards, and fully assembled and tested to European Legislation, We hope that it may be preserved for many centuries to come.
DETAILS
The Vampire Bat can be supplied with either five halogen or LED bulbs. Standard the light comes with 3.0m long cable, 2.0m suspension wires, and black canopy. Other lengths for cable and suspension wires possible on request, please specify in comments at check out. The Vampire Bat will be accompanied by its passport, documenting the history and origin of the lamp.
110 volt options, US & Canada wiring, and other specialties are available.
