This classic fixture was salvaged from the remains of the German ‘Kunstlederfabrik’, a factory where artificial leather was produced. As the development of this synthetic material depended heavily upon hazardous chemicals, this sturdy explosion-proof fixture was applied throughout the complex.
The Sandfire Dragon was especially designed to ensure that it does not cause an explosion in places where high concentrations of flammable gases, vapours, or dusts occur. It consists of a casing fitted with a heat-resistant safety glass, and a removable cage. While most of the fixtures in this ‘family’ have a mounting-ring embedded in the cast-iron body, the Sandfire Dragon has a detachable ring that can be screwed onto the body.
The Sandfire Dragon comes with:
– 42 watt E27 halogen bulb
– 1,5 meter matt black cable
– passport describing the history and origin of the lamp.
The fixture has been completely rewired to current standards, and is assembled and tested to EN 60598 directive of European Harmonized Legislation. US & Canada wiring available on request.
