The Iron Snail is created from an explosion-proof electrical switch and is a heavyweight with its 7,5 Kg. It consists entirely of a cast-iron body with a small metal switch by which the light can be dimmed. The warm decorative light exemplifies the elegancy of the heavy industrial object.
This heavyweight wall lamp was found at a large factory complex in the northern periphery of Amsterdam. It was already vacant for a while and on the verge of being demolished. The factory produced industrial gases, and was located in the heart of what used to be one of the largest industrial areas of Amsterdam.
The Iron Snail comes with:
– two dimmable decorative E14 LED bulb 2.7W /200Lm / 2200K
– 2.0 meter of black textile cable and grounded plug (EU standard)
The fixture has been completely rewired to current standards, and is assembled and tested to EN 60598 directive of European Harmonized Legislation.
