We have many favourites, but this pendant lamp is definitely in our top five. Its pure and straightforward design makes it a simple, yet elegant fixture. Although we cannot make any exact statements on this rare fixture, we have a strong feeling it was produced around the 1940s-1950s. We featured it with a twisted textile cable and a special deco bulb to add even more delicacy to its dished aluminium body.
Together with many other fixtures, the Heron was found at the ceiling of a storage building on the premises of a former East German refrigerator manufacturer. All fixtures found in this space are considered special pieces originating from before the second world war or just soon after. Presumable after a reconstruction, these lamps were stockpiled at the attic, and left to be forgotten.
The Heron comes with:
– Edison deco bulb E27
– 1,5 meter of twisted black textile cable
– passport describing its history and origin.
The fixture has been completely rewired to current standards, and is assembled and tested to EN 60598 directive of European Harmonized Legislation. US & Canada wiring available on request.
