Although we cannot make any exact statements on this rare lamp shade, we have a strong feeling its design originates from the West German manufacturer Bolich Ebolicht. Similar to the Mounted Penguin, the mounting construction was known to be used for many different lighting fixtures. This classical way of installing these fixtures was often used to create outdoor lighting from walls or under small roofs.
Together with many other fixtures, the Grey Parrot was found at the ceiling of a storage building on the premises of a former East German refrigerator manufacturer. All fixtures found in this space are considered special pieces originating from before the second world war or just soon after. Presumable after a reconstruction, these lamps were stockpiled at the attic, and left to be forgotten.
The Grey Parrot comes with 42 watt halogen bulb, 1,5 meter of matt black cable, and a passport describing its history and origin.
The fixture has been completely rewired to current standards, and is assembled and tested to EN 60598 directive of European Harmonized Legislation. US & Canada wiring available on request.
