The Green Horned Turtle is considered a highly uncommon, green variant within the Turtle family. It features a metal cage, protecting its striking translucent glass cover, and marks the German words ‘auf’ and ‘zu’ on the casing, indicating its opening and closing direction.
This rare fixture was salvaged from an abandoned fertiliser manufacturer in former East Germany, where it was mounted to the wall of the subsurface corridors beneath the enormous complex. Through the years, the tunnel system beneath the factory has been consumed and eroded by nature. Walls have broken down, and in some places the corridors have partly collapsed. Fitted with the glass cover, this fixture illuminated the corridors with a soft light.
The Green Horned Turtle comes with a 46 watt E27 halogen light, a 1,5 meter matt black cable, and a passport describing its history and origin.
