This rare enamel lamp shade is most likely produced in the early DDR era. The lamp comprises a wide-spread enamel shade with a cast-aluminium connection box. Although this item shows various signs of usage, probably because it hung most of its life in an exposed environment, we consider it as one of our personal favorites.
The lamp was salvaged from an abandoned fertilizer manufacturer in East Germany, which was build during WWII, and taken over by the soviet military administration during the DDR-era. The factory had to close soon after the reunification of Germany due to the lack of financial means. Tt has been abandoned since.
The lamp was found hanging solely under one of the porches at this enormous complex. The lamp comes with a 42 watt E27 halogen bulb, a 1,5 meter matt black cable, and its passport describing the history and origin of the lamp.
The fixture has been completely rewired to current standards, and is assembled and tested to EN 60598 directive of European Harmonized Legislation. US & Canada wiring available on request.
