Like many explosion-proof lights, this round well glass pendant lamp is especially designed to be used in buildings with hazardous materials such as bunkers, ammunition storages, or constructions for military purposes. A porcelain layer separating the casing’s socket from the air outside, prevents any inflammable gasses from getting in contact with the connection and causing an explosion.
The lamp was salvaged from a small military complex located in the middle of the forest somewhere in East Germany. It illuminated the main barracks on the complex that was used for the assembly of missiles.
The Chuckwalla comes with a 42 watt E27 halogen bulb, a 1,5 meter matt black cable, and its passport describing the history and origin of the lamp.
