The Black Shiny Python, a relative of the ‘Shiny Python‘, was originally designed by Curt Fisher for the ‘Midgard’ Company. In order to improve the illumination on industrial work sites Midgard produced a series of fully adjustable lights, like this functional yet elegant desk lamp. The fixture consists of a typical aluminium shade and an adjustable arm. The arm features three joints – the base, the arms, and at the shade – making it a highly flexible lamp. It has been designed so that it can be easily connected to the rim of a desk or shelf.
ORIGIN
These fixtures originate from a abandoned spinning mill in former East Germany. From the many workstations and offices throughout the factory, we were able to recover several of these delicate lighting fixtures.
RESTORATION
All our lights are restored by hand with the greatest care. As unique piece of heritage, we seek to preserve the light’s authentic appearance. We present the lamp in it’s original finish, or re-finish the light in it’s original color. The lamp has been completely rewired to current standards, and fully assembled and tested to European Legislation, We hope that it may be preserved for many centuries to come.
DETAILS
The Black Shiny Python is supplied with E27 bulb. The light comes with 2.0m long cable with on/off switch and grounded plug (EU standard). The Black Shiny Python will be accompanied by its passport, documenting the history and origin of the lamp.
