Belonging to the ‘Turtle-family’, this light is obviously the smaller brother of the ‘Slender Turtle’. It comprises a cast-aluminium body with a small spring-mounted porcelain E27 socket, and is distinguished by a splash-proof glass cover and a slender protective cage. It was produced by the East German manufacturer Elektroinstallation Oberweimar (EOW), and used throughout various industries.
ORIGIN
The lamp was salvaged from the premises of a former refrigerator manufacturer in East Germany, where it was mounted to the ceiling of one of the storages in the complex.
RESTORATION
All our lights are restored by hand with the greatest care. As unique piece of heritage, we seek to preserve the light’s authentic appearance. We present the lamp in it’s original finish, or re-finish the light in it’s original color. The lamp has been completely rewired to current standards, and fully assembled and tested to European Legislation, We hope that it may be preserved for many centuries to come.
DETAILS
The Baby Slender Turtle can be supplied with either halogen or LED bulbs. Standard the light comes with 2.0m long cable. Other lengths for cable are possible on request, please specify in comments at check out. The Baby Slender Turtle will be accompanied by its passport, documenting the history and origin of the lamp. 110 volt options, US & Canada wiring, and other specialties are available.
