This lamp is the smallest variant of its brothers the ‘River Turtle’ and the ‘Little River Turtle’. It was produced by the East German manufacturer Elektroinstallation Oberweimar (EOW), and used in a large variety of industries. Its typically industrial design comprises an cast-aluminium body with a spring-mounted ceramic E27 socket, and is distinguished by its splash-proof glass cover with a screw-on protective case.
Just like its brothers this lamp was salvaged from a former state-owned cable manufacturer in East Germany. It was found solely at an accessible area of the piping system beneath the main production area of the factory.
The Baby River Turtle comes with a 42 watt E27 halogen bulb, a 1,5 meter matt black cable, and its passport describing the history and origin of the lamp.
The fixture has been completely rewired to current standards, and is assembled and tested to EN 60598 directive of European Harmonized Legislation. US & Canada wiring available on request.
