Our Items

Passport
All our items are forgotten items from forgotten places. We believe that this rich history should not be forgotten. Therefore every piece comes with its own ‘passport’, a small booklet explaining de history and origin of the item.

Restoration
All our pieces are restored and modernized so that the will last for decades to come. Please note that all original makers’ marks and labeling are to be disregarded, and that we recommend using all items internally, including those originally designed for external use.

Website images
Our items have had a previous life. This means they often show signs of their previous life, which in our opinion, is part of their charm. Please note that when multiple items of the same type have been salvaged from one site, only one of the items is shown on the website as an example. The item shown is always representative of all items within that specific batch. On request, we provide images of a particular item.

Installation of lights
We prepare our lighting fixtures for installation. The black electrical cable that comes with the lighting fixture is already connected, and if bulbs or fluorescent lights are included, these have been installed in advance. We recommend to have all lighting fixtures installed by a qualified electrician.

Customization
Items can be customized on request. If you have any special requirements, just get in touch with us and we will do our utmost to provide what you are looking for.

Dimmable fluorescent lighting
Fluorescent lights have the fine quality of producing a bright light. Perfect for office environments, but not always that best atmosphere for living spaces. With our dimmable customization, fluorescent lights can vary from 3% to full strength, emitting a warm and pleasant glow. Please contact us for more information on our dimmable fluorescent lights.

Delivery & Return

Delivery
We ship our items internationally using our custom-made packaging and high-standard parcel services. Shipping costs and delivery times may vary depending on the item and destination. We would be glad to provide a quotation on shipping costs.

The items are shipped from our workshop in The Netherlands. Orders are processed and dispatched as soon as possible, and no later than 7 days after the payment has been received. You will be notified when your order has been sent. Deliveries are generally made within working hours and may require a signature. For this reason, we recommend a delivery address is where someone is available to sign for receipt.

Duty & Customs
If your order is to be delivered outside the European Union, it may be subject to import duty and local sales taxes on receipt of the shipment. These duty and customs charges vary per country and are borne by the customer. Please enquire at your local post office, or tax authority.

Sales tax
The prices stated on the website include Dutch sales tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate where applicable. If your order is being dispatched outside the European Union, the VAT will be deducted from the price listed on the website, as goods may be taxed in the country of destination.

Pick up
When ordering a large or heavy item, pick-up may be preferable to delivery. If you prefer to pick up your order, just let us know when ordering. After scheduling a pick-up date, you are most welcome to collect your order at our workshop near Amsterdam.

Returns
If you are in any way unhappy with your purchase, the order can be returned for a full refund within 7 days of delivery. Please note that we are be not responsible for the costs and risks of return shipment. When you return any goods, please make sure that the item/s is properly packaged, and that proof of posting is retained from your shipper. Without proof of posting, we cannot assist you with any items that fail to reach us.

If you wish to return an item, please contact us via orders@blom.local before returning the item. When returning an item, please ensure that the items are in their original state and returned with all original tags and accessories. We aim to process all returns within three weekdays of reaching us and will confirm receipt directly.

Warranty
Although our items have had a previous life and are not manufactured by Blom & Blom, we do our utmost to ensure our items meet the reasonable requirements of reliability and usability. In the unfortunate event of an item not meeting these requirements, you will be compensated. This can be done by completely or partially replacing the item, by repairing the item, or by providing reasonable financial compensation.

When an item shows any damages or defects on receipt, please inform us by email within 48 hours after delivery. Please do not dispose of the goods as we require their return in full. When the item/s is returned to us and we have confirmed that the item does not meet the requirements, compensation will follow. In such cases return costs are reimbursed.

Payment & Security

Payment methods
When your order has been confirmed, payment can be made by one of the following methods:
– Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
– Paypal
– IDEAL (Dutch payments only)
– Bank transfer

During the order process, we will ask you for your preferred payment method. For payments via Credit card, Paypal or IDEAL, you will receive a secure payment link; for payments via bank transfer, we will provide you the necessary payment details. Payments need to be received in full before the order can be dispatched.

Prices
All of our prices are giving in Euros. The prices stated on the website include Dutch sales tax (VAT) at the prevailing rate where applicable, and are exclusive of shipping costs. If your order is being dispatched outside the European Union, the VAT will be deducted from the price listed on the website, as goods may be taxed in the country of destination.

Security
Security is a major concern of customers who make online purchases. We only work with secure and reliable payment partners who use the latest encryption technology (128 bit Secure Socket Layer or SSL). In this way, we assure that any personal information and payment details are encrypted, which means that no one can intercept your payment details.

Privacy policy
1. Your Data
We hate spam. Therefore, if we ask you for any personal information, such as your name, postal address, or email address, this is only used to processing orders or to respond to enquiries. We may contact you either by post, email, or telephone as a customer service in follow-up to any issues concerning an order, or to answer any questions you may have. We will not send you any marketing or promotional email unless you agree in advance. We will not pass on your e-mail address to any other company, or third party.

2. Data Protection Act
Our data collection and storage is governed by the rules of the Dutch Data Protection Act and other associated legislation.

3. Third Party Relationships
Areas of the site may contain links to third party sites that may be of interest to you. Please be aware that we do not have control over the content of these sites or their privacy practices.

4. Cookies
Many websites store information in a small text file called a cookie, which is kept on your computer’s hard drive. On our website, we use this facility only to store information for our website statistics. We do not store your personal or payment information through cookies.
